Winter Ball

Ranae had her Cotillion Winter Ball this evening.  

Finding the required full-length white dress was difficult.

The search put us in several bridal shops around town.

And the girls were "ooooing" and "ahhhhing"

at every pretty dress imaginable.  

I took comfort in the fact 

that I won't have to worry about bridal shops for a while.

I took comfort in the fact that it's just a simple Winter Ball.

(But I must admit that some of those dresses 

got me oooohing and ahhhhing too.)

Sarah's First Goat Show

A local 4-H club has a "practice" goat show every year

before the County Fair that anyone may participate in.

It was the perfect setting for Sarah to show for the first time.

Her sister received her first ever blue ribbon for showmanship.

And she was encouraging to her little sister.

Then we packed up and headed home

with smiles and tails a wagging.  

Back to School

With teenagers it always seems like they're leaving.

I find myself always looking at their back.

In this case, it's back to school.

(It has been a blessing that his roommate 

was a high school friend and has a car.)

We will miss you until spring break, Kevin!

Dasher and Square Dancer

Today, Sarah's BFF came to visit.

And we got to show her why Dancer

got renamed SQUARE Dancer.

Just look at that forehead!

Goat Pied Piper

If you have a bucket of minerals

or a handful of treats,

our goats will follow you anywhere.

Actually, if your shirt looks tasty 

they would follow you too.

Do goats have teeth?

Goats do have teeth.

But only on the bottom.

Sarah and her cousin decided to see for themselves.
