Kevin Graduates from High School!

Knowing he would be graduating in a class of 700+ students,
I decided to adorn the top of his hat.....

.....so I could find him in a sea of green hats.

First we located him.....

.....then the angels sang, "Hallelujah!".

Little sister Sarah was so proud of him.

And Kevin's girlfriend, Anna, was happy for him too.

Congratulations Kevin.
We are all happy for you.

Woo Hoo!
And Hallelujah too!

Piano Performance

Ranae was asked to perform tonight at a Cotillion Open House.
It is so nice, after years of piano lessons,
for her to get to use her skills to benefit others.
The bonus:  I don't have to make her.
She actually likes it.
Excuse me, while I go count my blessings.

First Tooth is Outa There!

Well, it finally happened.
Sarah lost her first tooth.
Just a couple of weeks before the end of First Grade.

She was beyond excited and had lots of questions.
So she decided to write a letter to the tooth fairy.
The tooth fairy did answer most of her questions,
but the exciting part was that the she left a coin from China
along with the dollar bill!
It seems the tooth fairy just flew in from China
right before she visited Sarah.
It's a small world, huh.

Mother's Day

Here are almost all my kids
holding the baby kids born on our farm in 2013.
(My oldest son, Matthew, is missing from this picture.)
From left to right:
Kevin - holding Diamond and Dixie
Sarah - holding Dazzle
Ranae - holding DejaVu and Diadem
Alex - holding Dodge with Dreamer, Delano & Diplomat standing

Mother's Day is a wonderful reminder to me
that motherhood is the best job in the world.
I'm thankful to God, my husband, and my children
for making me one.

Ballet Performance

Sarah and her ballet bun were ready to dance.
This year I didn't get a picture of her beautiful costume:(
It's partly because after the opening dance they
stayed backstage to dance again.

Between rehearsal and the performance
we went with friends to a restaurant that has become a
dance performance tradition.
Little girls are so much fun!

Tap and Jazz

Tonight Sarah performed her Jazz and Tap dances
for family and friends.
The performance was low-key and held at the studio.

The hats were WAY too big for her and
they put some sticky-backed foam in several places
inside the rim to try and keep them on her head.
And they stayed in place.  Wheww!
Daddy was so surprised by how much she learned this year.
And he also noted that she didn't stop smiling the whole time.
The BIG ballet performance is in two days.....
so we will just keep dancing our way to summer:)

Alex is home.....and 20!

Alex came home from college today.
He came home exactly one month after his birthday.

One month ago he was up to his ears in homework and tests.
Not especially a fun birthday, according to him.
And since I didn't get to bake him a cake for his birthday.....
I decided to bake him one a little late.
And we all decided to help him celebrate.

And help him eat his cake.
:-)
