Trick or Treat

As the sun set, we set out to trick or treat.
Sarah is on the left.
She went as a waitress this year.
Yes, a waitress.
It was creative, I thought.
And definitely not scary.
Ranae ended up treating with some of her friends
in a different neighborhood.
She went as a mad scientist.
That costume has seen its fair share of wear in this house.
It's a classic around here.
Most importantly all was safe,
the weather was great,
and the candy hall was legendary.
Perfect.
(I'm calling the dentist.)

Picking Pumpkins

Ranae came straight from basketball practice
and went straight to the pumpkin she wanted.
Done deal.

Sarah, on the other hand, spent quite a bit of time
making her selection.
In her defense, it was just two days before Halloween
and all the medium sized pumpkins were gone.

We have only one family rule about Pumpkin Picking:
1.  You have to be able to carry it.
So, to find a pumpkin she could carry took some time.
I found out that, at 8 years old, she is stronger than she looks:-)

All's Well

It has been a while since I've posted.
But all is well.
We had a good summer and 4 birthdays and
school is going well for everyone.
Instead of going backwards and catching up,
I decided to go forward.
This year I am teaching my 4-H group about goats.
And Sarah Kate will be showing her first goat in the fair this year.
She is pictured above with her fair goat, Dreamer.
We are hoping he is a "dream" come show time!
