Playground

If you live in Florida year round,
then you know what I'm talking about.
During winter we constantly say,
"THIS IS WHY WE LIVE HERE."
Sunny skies, cool weather and flowers blooming.
~ ~ ~
Simply lovely.

What could be better than a lovely morning on the playground
and a friend to spend it with.
You won't catch us complaining.
We're all smiles.

A Good Quote

"Do all the good you can,

in all the places you can,

at all the times you can,

to all the people you can,

as long as you ever can."

John Wesley (1703-1791)

Guess Who's Pregnant?

Well, it's easy to tell from this picture who's pregnant.
(That's Ester on the bottom and her daughter Angel on the top.)
Ester is due the first part of February.
And she's coming along nicely.
I'm still hoping for a golden doe from her!
And I've got my fingers crossed.

New Goats from New Mexico

My new babies are here!
Ordered from a goat farm in New Mexico.
One buckling.
One doe.
Both with BLUE EYES.
(I needed a new buck to mate with Jericho's daughters.)
They are simply gorgeous.
But after a harrowing day flying
more than halfway across the country,
they aren't really interested in me yet.
But the little doe was interested in the grain I brought her.

And the little buck was soon to follow.
I've been thinking of names.
They have to start with an "A".
(more on that later)
The consensus was "Amadeus" for the buck.
I liked "America" for the doe.
My children really didn't.
In fact, I heard one of them whisper, "I hate America.".
I couldn't help but giggle and say, "Watch your mouth!".
Although they did think it would be funny if she turned out to be bossy.
Then they could say, "Hey look at America beat up _____!"
So her name isn't decided for sure yet.
Stay tuned.....

He's Gone.....Again

College Christmas break is over.
And this is my son Matthew leaving......again.
(The good news is that he looks about as thrilled as I am.)

I've counted the weeks until he is home again.
There are 8 of them.
And where he's going is cold with a capitol "C".
This could well be the coldest 8 weeks of his life.
I miss him.....
already.
And I can't ever imagine this getting easier.

Goat Feeding Time

We have these nifty little feeding doors for the goats.
Each goat can put their head through a keyhole and get their grain.
It keeps the food clean because they can't step in it.
And it helps everyone eat their own.
(They don't share grain well.)

But it doesn't stop them from trying to "share".

What's For Dinner?

The Dinner Dilemma.....
Is this true for you too?
If I know what's for dinner I feel so ahead of the game.
I fairly skip through the day knowing I have a dinner plan.
I feel more prepared and calmer than days when I am still trying to figure it out at 2 pm.
Just to know that I'm making mashed potatoes,
and I have the potatoes,
is a great feeling.
Because it's "dinner for seven" every night.
And hungry teenagers are not happy teenagers.
Take my word for it.
They are kind of like hungry toddlers
only BIGGER
and with verbal skills.
I do love feeding my family.
And I do like happy teenagers...
and toddlers.

Hollywood Studios

The beginning of a beautiful family day at the park.
I really like this truck!
(But it only seats three.)
Kevin and Sarah....smiling as usual.

The most funnest,
most awesome,
bestest
Disney ride ever.
~ Midway Mania ~
In 3D!

Why is he smiling?
Is he on their side?

Driving Cars......at Disney

Matthew's very own sports car ~ Disney style.

Sarah trying so hard to drive carefully.

Ranae driving by herself for the first time.
(I've got four more years before that happens for real.)
I hope that's enough time to get used to the idea.

Disney !

How do you get teenagers to ride the merry-go-round at Magic Kingdom?

Tell them, "Your 5 year old little sister wants to go."
