Making Fifi's Famous Meatballs

We've been eating Fifi's Famous Meatballs for years.
And today Fifi showed us how to make them.

Sarah wore her new apron and hat
from our Christmas Elf.

We started the day at the local meat market
selecting just the right meat and spices.

Then Fifi showed us how to make the sauce,

and combine the meatball ingredients.

Which to the girl's delight,
was a hands-on job.

Ooey, gooey fun.

The anticipation was enhanced
by how wonderful the smell of the sauce became.

And after a great, homemade spaghetti and
Fifi's Famous Meatball dinner,
we celebrated the end of the year
with our traditional ice cream floats.
Bye-bye 2013.

Guess who was born today?

Dasher and Dancer, that's who!
Just 8 hours short of Christmas.

Mother and babies are doing well.
Little Dot had two doelings
and we got to witness the second birth.

Welcome to the Farm!
Your mama loves ya!
And we do too:)
~ ~ ~
These two little girls mark the 60th and 61st
goat kids born on our farm.
Makes me wonder why my blog is called
My Small Farm Life.

Ho-Ho-Ho

Santa was here.

And here.

All that's left is the giving and getting,
and tearing and ripping,
and ooooohing and aaaaahing,
and hugging and smiling,
and eating and laughing,
and playing and building,
and feeling so content and blessed.
Families are priceless.
 Christmas is priceless.
And Jesus is the reason.

Goodbye Taylor!

The Elf baked cookies last night.
She had on her chef hat and apron and left one for us!
She will be headed back to the North Pole tonight
and won't be back until next year.
So long Taylor.
We love you too!
Taylor may be going but guess who's coming.
Baby Jesus!
(and Santa too ;)

The Elf is still smiling.

If she's still smiling,
we must be doing alright.
Right?

The Elf and Dustbunnies

Our Elf is back in the kitchen
ever watching.....ever smiling.
I realized today how very thankful I have been for her visit.
Not only because it's fun to find her each day,
and not only for the gentle reminder she gives us
to mind our manners and spread cheer,
but because Taylor has been doing some long neglected dusting.
I suppose she needed a clean place to perch.
I wonder if she tells Santa about our dustbunnies.
